Thu, December 4, 2008 - 3:33 PMThey are only a couple of blocks from each other in downtown Oakland, so it's an honest mistake. -

Re: More on the Fox
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 4:04 PMDickens Fair was held at the Fox Theatre in Oakland in 1983 and 1984. Those of us that were actually there know what we are talking about. -

Re: More on the Fox
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 5:20 PMFagin's Walk - the best place to observe the whole danged operation. I doubt that the public will have access to that part of Fox -

Re: More on the Fox
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 6:00 PMFagin's Walk was amazing. Complete with rats; at least one of them a trained performer. -

Re: More on the Fox
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 6:03 PMWhen we were enjoying champers in the intervals between tours we often let Hilary (the one trained rat) share - she did love herslef some champers

Fri, December 5, 2008 - 3:59 AMI was there.
wow, sorry about the mistake, my memory failed me after 25 years
also sorry I brought 3 people back with me on Sunday after having gone on opening day this year.
I'll be sure to mention to anyone thinking of going this year what a friendly bunch it is that works there.

Re: More on the Fox
Fri, December 5, 2008 - 10:28 AMThis is the internet. You are anonymous entity whom no one knows. If your feelings are so hurt because you were corrected more than once after insisting your erroneous information was correct, perhaps the internet in general is not the place for you.
This tribe is not the Dickens Fair itself but made up of people with an interest in the Fair, some of whom work there and some who are long-time fans and patrons. It is not a mirror of the Fair itself.
Glad you had a lovely time and took your friends. Do come back again to the Fair, where I'm sure you will be greeting warmly as all the patrons are as a real person and not the anonymous entity you appear on this tribe. -

We're supposed to be - it's our job. If we ain't out-Disneying Disney for sheer pound-for-pound jolliness, then we will have to be boiled in our own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through our hearts.
